Infrequently Asked Questions

Where does the name "Lizzy Chrome" come from?
It's a reference to "Burning Chrome," a science-fiction anthology by William Gibson (one of my favorite authors). It began as the username for my DeviantArt account; I wanted something cyberpunk. Over time the name grew on me, until it became my regular online handle.

And "the Chrome Bucket?"

A love note to the Chum Bucket. I idolized Plankton growing up.

Why the stupid aliases? Why not just brand yourself with your legal name?

Because my real surname looks like a cat walked across a keyboard. I want something easy to pronounce, easy to remember, and that fits the tone of most of my work. Plus, I've embarrassed my family enough for one century.

Is art your full-time job?

I wish! I pay the bills with a mundane job where I get some much-needed exercise. My pipe-dream is to someday be successful enough in art and writing that I only have to work the day job part-time.

Do you do requests?

I'm sorry, I don't. I don't even have time for all of my own projects, I can't take on someone else's for free. I am opened for commissions though.

Can I use your art for personal reasons (desktop wallpaper, avatar, fanfic cover, etc)

Absolutely! As long as you aren't trying to make money off of it, or trying to claim credit as the artist, go crazy. Just try to remember to credit me, if you can.

You've done fan art commissions though. Isn't it a bit hypocri--?

NEXT QUESTION.

What do you think of "AI Art?"

Oxymoron. At least until we create actually sentient AIs capable of creativity. For now, I consider AI imagery a fun toy, and a great source of ideas. But I would no more call an AI image my "art" than I would claim that my drive-through order is my own cooking. You won't find any AI on this site.

I'm looking for a picture of yours and can't find it. Why is that?

I've been posting art online for almost twenty years now, much of it amateur. When I join (or make) a new website, I tend to only upload my best or favorite stuff. This site is still a work in progress, so there's a lot I plan to add down the road. If you want to know about a certain picture, feel free to email me at ezabronsky@yahoo.com, or contact me on one of the other platforms I'm active on.

You don't have a professional email through your own site yet? Why?

Money, my dude.

Are you mad at me?

Probably not. My social skills and attention span are both very weak. I tend to have the outward composure of a Vulcan, hosting a Muppet's katra. When someone asks me "what's wrong" I'm usually just zoning, and if I actually am mad about something, it probably has nothing to do with you.

Kirk or Picard?
JANEWAY.
